The Body: Designed for Durability and Grip
The body of the Fenix PD36R Pro flashlight is constructed from hardened aluminium and undergoes the HA-III hard anodizing process, providing resistance against scratches, abrasion, and mechanical damage. The body’s milling and geometric profile prevent slipping and offer excellent grip. The flashlight also features a steel clip for quick attachment to body armour and easy retrieval. The detachable clip prevents the flashlight from rolling on inclined surfaces. The control system includes two rear buttons with different shapes and functionalities.
The Light Source: LUMINUS SST70 LED for Exceptional Illumination
The PD36R Pro utilizes a new-generation LUMINUS SST70 LED, offering a maximum light output of 2800 lumens with a range of up to 380 meters. The cool-neutral light colour reduces eye fatigue, enhances colour rendering, and improves the visibility of details. The flashlight incorporates anti-reflective glass with high light transmission and a smooth reflector, providing a concentrated light output with a strongly illuminated center. This design enables the flashlight to illuminate objects up to 450 meters away.

Users can choose from six light modes, including turbo, high, medium, low, eco, and strobe, allowing for versatile lighting options. It’s important to note that the flashlight offers a remarkable total runtime of nearly 3.5 hours in turbo mode at 2800 lumens.
The flashlight is powered by a high-capacity 21700 type cell, boasting an impressive 5000mAh capacity. This battery has double the capacity of a standard 18650 cell, resulting in exceptional performance and extended runtime.
Efficient Charging and Battery Management
Equipped with a built-in USB-C charging port, the PD36R Pro enables fast charging of the cell. Just a 10-minute charge provides up to 5 hours of 150 lumens output. The USB-C port also allows for charging the flashlight from a portable power bank, greatly enhancing mobility and capabilities. The charging port is protected from moisture, water, and dust by a rubber plug. The flashlight features a battery level indicator (LED in the body) and low voltage warning, facilitating operational control and efficient management of the remaining power supply. Upon turning on the flashlight, the indicator provides battery status information for 3 seconds.

The PD36R Pro flashlight has two rear switches: a round one and a smaller oval one for changing modes. The main button activates momentary light and turns on continuous illumination. The smaller oval button is responsible for changing the brightness of the light and activating strobe. Thanks to the memory function, the last used light mode is automatically selected after the next activation of the flashlight. The Fenix PD36 TAC uses APF (Advanced Transmission Technology), which reduces the susceptibility of electronics to interference.
The flashlight employs several protection systems, including reverse polarity protection, low voltage warning and “intelligent protection” against overheating, which reduces the brightness of the light to cool down when heated to 60°C. A high IP68 rating makes the flashlight resistant to total immersion in water (30 minutes at a depth of 2 meters), dust and dirt, and falling.
