- Enter Velocity: Type in the speed of your projectile in feet per second (fps). This is usually measured with a chronograph.
- Choose a Product (Optional): If you select a product from the dropdown, its weight will be automatically filled in for you. If not, you can manually enter the weight of your projectile in grams.
- Calculate: Hit the “Calculate” button to see the energy in joules that your projectile will deliver.
Key Details:
- Launch Height: The calculator assumes the projectile is launched from a height of 1.8 meters (about 5.9 feet).
- Air Density: We use a standard air density of 1.225 kg/m³ for our calculations.
- Gravity: Gravity is set at 9.81 m/s², the standard gravitational acceleration.
