What Is a PepperBall Projectile?

A PepperBall projectile is very different from a solid nylon or rubber ball.

Instead of being solid, it has a breakable shell with powder inside.

The shell is made to open on impact. This allows the powder inside to spread into the nearby area.

This means the projectile works in a different way from a normal solid 0.68 calibre ball.

What Is PAVA?

PAVA is the active pepper ingredient used in this projectile.

It is a type of pepper irritant.

The current Dye-Hard specification lists this projectile as containing 2% PAVA.

The powder sits inside the shell until the projectile breaks.

Do not cut, crush or open the projectile.

Why Does the Shell Break?

The shell is designed to break during use.

This allows the powder inside to come out.

That is the main difference between this type of projectile and a solid ball.

A nylon or rubber projectile normally stays in one piece.

A PepperBall projectile is designed to break and release its contents.
