The gesture sensor and proximity sensor are turned on by default. If you experience unexpected deactivation or dimming when adjusting the focus ring, it is due to your hand covering the sensor. You may deactivate that sensor by holding down the electronic switch for 6 seconds while the light is off. The red light will flash eight times, indicating that the sensor is disabled.
